Vakuform

vakuform products represent a unique combination of vacuum technology using highly flexible, skin friendly neoprene material. Thus it is possible to adjust the material in an optimum and uncreased way even for extreme body shapes. Adding of air the pad gets soft and fits to the body shape dynamically. After vacuuming a strong cushion shape is created which is a perfect negative image of the body shape. The adjustment of the cushion to the anatomic surface of the human body changes the ratio between weight and surface area and reduces the pressure load. In this way an optimum distribution of pressure is achieved. In vacuumed state the pad creates a strong seat and if necessary can be reshaped. In case of suspected or existing decubitus, endangered parts of the body can be relieved by pushing the cushion with the fingers, which leads to additional relief of pressure. In contrast to conventional adjustable methods of inflexible materials, the highly flexible Vakuform products guarantee consistent, fast and problem free adjustments of the pad to altered positional or anatomic changes. Besides neoprene has the advantage of feeling like upholstery even, when the vacuum is produced. This increases comfort and reduces pressure.

About the material:

The content of the cushion consists of stable, extremely fine polystyrene balls. The cushion is made of 3 mm skin friendly nylon-jersey coated neoprene. The cushion cover and the lining are made of different elastic woven-mesh material, to maintain an optimum micro-climate. It can be disinfected.

Application examples:

Vakuform products are used successfully in hospitals, institutions for disabled people, therapeutic centres, geriatric institutes and in the home.

cerebral palsy with heavy motor retardation: as a seat frame lining or for whole body protection, for realigning and supportive systems e.g. tetra spastic with ataxic or athetoid pattern, for abduction positioning.
Spastic or slacking paralysis of different geneses, e.g. transverse spinal cord syndrome, after apoplexy.
Degenerative processes of the spinal column: Scoliosis or torsions. For a flexible body closer support in torso area or by gap of the cele with Spina Bifida.
Tetra spastics
Muscle atrophy and dystrophy, amongst other things with the possibility of flexible and quickly changeable adjustments.
As an aspect of safety by osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bones).

The interchangeability of single elements, the high shifting area of hard frame and vacuum upholstery, including doubly anatomical fulcrum and the precast belt guidances allow an exact and quick adjustment on site to you. 13 components from high-strength aluminium alloy are connected to three eligible hard frame dimensions. Together with the vakuum upholstery all necessary mass of the child up to the adults are covered.
